The development of new drugs requires the integration of a large number of experiments and validation.
Screening can be useful when a mechanism of action or pathology model is already mastered. Proof of concept can be provided for identified candidates using biochemical, in silico, in vitro, ex vivo, or in vivo models.
The molecules can be tested for their pharmacokinetic and pharmacological behavior in small animals (ADME). Optimizations can be performed by chemical modification (small molecule) or mutations for biomolecules.
