MALDI-ToF is a mass spectrometer that couples an ionization source, the matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) with a Time of Flight (ToF) analyzer.
It allows for the identification of macromolecules in the presence of a sample by mass fingerprinting.
This method is particularly recommended when a limited number of species are present in each sample analyzed.
