Peroxisomes are organelles found in all eukaryotic cells. They are involved in the catabolism of very long fatty acid chains, D-amino acids, and polyamines, and in the synthesis of plasmalogens.
Two levels of purification can be achieved: crude peroxisome fraction (CPF) purification, and highly purified peroxisomes.
