Ribosomes are complex molecular machines found in all living cells and that are responsible for the translation process. They consist of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) associated with ribosomal proteins, forming two subunits.
Purification of ribosomes consists first of the isolation of a crude fraction, followed by an enrichment of monomers and polymers of ribosomes.
